As per the report, the new displays are taking up more time to make by Apple’s production partners. Compared to the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, the 11-inch iPad Pro comes with an LCD panel, same as its predecessor, and is expected to be available for delivery later this month and into the first week of June. The 12.9 inch model’s deliveries are speculated to happen later in June, continuing into July.
While the new device may be facing production delays due to its display, there have been good reports about the speed of the M1-chip powered iPad Pro. According to the early benchmark results done on Geekbench 5, the M1-chip powered iPad Pro is over 50% faster than the previous-generation iPad Pro, claimed a report by MacRumors.
The 12.9-inch iPad Pro got average single-core and multi-core scores of 1,718 and 7,284, respectively, which is based on five Geekbench 5 tests. The previous gen (4th gen) 12.9-inch iPad Pro with the A12Z chip got average single-core and multi-core scores of 1,121 and 4,656, respectively, which makes the M1 iPad Pro around 56% faster. Coming to graphics performance, the fifth generation M1-chip iPad Pro got an average Metal score of 20,578, which makes it 71% faster than the fourth-gen iPad Pro with the A12Z chip.
The report also notes that the third-generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro with the A12X chip got a higher average multi-core score of 4,809 but the M1 iPad Pro still came out 51% faster.
