Celebrate LGBTQ Pride Month With Gear From Brands That Give Back

June marks the start of LGBTQ Pride Month, and along with the parades and parties come countless products in kaleidoscopic hues. Brands and retailers are amping up their messaging of inclusivity, charity and sense of purpose with their Pride collections.

Here, we’ve rounded up companies that have Pride-themed gear with charitable components that support causes that impact LGBTQ people. Check back for updates.

Adidas

As part of its 2021 Love Unites collection, the Three Stripes is giving some of its silhouettes with colorful graphics, including the Forum Low, Nizza, Nizza Slip-On and Adilette 2.0 available to purchase at select retailers and on Adidas.com beginning May 15. The footwear ranges in price from $50 to $100. The collection’s message emphasizes love, truth and connection via “love unites” emblazoned across the styles.

How it supports the LGBTQ community: Though not tied to product sales, Adidas is supporting Athlete Ally, which champions LGBTQ inclusion in sports, and Stonewall through financial contributions and the development of long-term sustainable programming.

Bombas

Bombas’ latest Pride collection for 2021 honors the diverse experiences, stories and intersectionalities within the LGBTQ+ community. Available at Bombas.com with a price range of $12 to $124, the capsule features everything from signature socks to symbolic T-shirts, tote bags and even underwear.

How it supports the LGBTQ community: Keeping with its main mission of “One Purchased=One Donated,” the brand will be donating a specially-designed item to those in need within the LGTBQ+ community. To do so, Bombas will work with Casa Ruby, Mozaic and the Transgender Resource Center of New Mexico.

Converse

Embarking on its sixth anniversary celebrating Pride, Converse announced its 2021 capsule featuring the Chuck 70, Chuck Taylor All Star shoes in low and high-top versions, the Run Star Hike and slides available on Converse.com. All styles in the collection also showcase the brand’s new Pride graphic, which includes mountain and floral details made to “explore the duality of struggle and joy along the journey to self-love,” according to Converse. 

How it supports the LGBTQ community: Converse will be donating a portion of LGBTQIA+ community funding from the brand’s ongoing partnership with the It Gets Better Project [IGBP] to support the organization’s education initiatives on TikTok and Twitch to empower young LGBTQIA+ people. Additionally, the brand will supply annual grants to its longtime partners Ali Forney CenterBAGLY and OUT MetroWest, whose work helps protect and uplift LGBTQIA+ youth through social justice and advocacy programs.

Disney

The Rainbow Disney 2021 collection includes a range of multicolored apparel and accessories for children and adults, including matching sweat sets, polo shirts, mugs, face masks, hats and more. Products are available now on ShopDisney.com as well as at Disney stores.

How it supports the LGBTQ community: In honor of Pride Month, The Walt Disney Company will also be donating funds to various LGBTQ+ organizations, including GLSEN, a national education organization whose mission is to ensure all LGBTQ+ students are able to learn and thrive in a safe and supportive environment.

Dockers

Dockers’ fourth annual Pride collection is titled “United By Love” and brings together five gender-inclusive styles. The brand’s capsule includes a tank top, T-shirt, button-down, drawstring cargo shorts and a drawstring backpack. All come in a neutral-toned floral print, adorned with rainbow details. The 2021 collection is available May 19 at Dockers.com, retailing from $22 to $58.

How it supports the LGBTQ community: Dockers continues its partnership through Pride month and beyond with the Stonewall Community Foundation (SCF), a non-profit organization that focuses on strengthening the LGBTQ+ community within New York City and around the world, in addition to SCF’s Black Futures Fund (BFF). The BFF centers on the Black LGBTQ+ experience and innovation that furthers SCF’s initiative to build a national community of Black LGBTQ+ visionaries, creators and movement makers.

Dr. Martens

For 2021, the footwear brand’s classic 1461 oxford gets a subtle treatment, complete with Pride flag colors on the heel tab and other small details. Finished with multi-tonal stitching, the shoe is currently available on Drmartens.com for $120. The brand is also offering rainbow laces and colorful socks.

How it supports the LGBTQ community: In association with their Pride 1461 oxford, Doc Martens will be donating $100,000 to The Trevor Project — one of the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organizations for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning youths.

Happy Socks

Happy Socks is here to brighten your day with ultra-colorful styles. The Happy Socks Pride collection brings a capsule of gift sets and as well as pairs to purchase from $14-$38. The collection will be available year-round at Happysocks.com.

How it supports the LGBTQ community: Happy Socks is donating 10% of net sales from the collection to go towards InterPride, the international association of Pride events worldwide. The contribution helps the Solidarity Fund, which assists Pride organizations in hostile environments and areas of crisis and conflict.

Levi’s

Levi’s is taking messages of inclusion and respect into a centering theme for its 2021 Pride collection, which highlights the cultural conversation around gender pronouns. Available now on Levi.com, the collection ranges from $18 to $148 and includes rainbow prints, overalls, a jumpsuit, two graphic tees, a tank, a relaxed graphic crew and hats.

How it supports the LGBTQ community: For the third year, Levi’s joins forces with OutRight Action International, a nonprofit working to advance LGBTQ+ rights across the world. The brand announced it plans to donate 100% of net proceeds from its Pride collection to the organization.

Michael Kors

Rainbows and hearts adorn Michael Kors’ 2021 Pride collection, which launches June 1 online and in stores. The brand’s capsule includes bedazzled slides, flip flops and sneakers. It also features apparel and accessories.

How it supports the LGBTQ community: As part of the release, 100% of sales from June 1-30 of the special-edition gender-neutral Pride T-shirt ($68) will support OutRight Action International, an organization dedicated to global human rights for LGBTIQ+ people.

Nordstrom

Falling under its BP brand, Nordstrom announced it will be releasing a capsule of gender-inclusive styles ranging from apparel to accessories to celebrate all things Pride. The “BP. Be Proud” collection ranges from $25-$59 at Nordstrom.com.

How it supports the LGBTQ community: Nordstrom plans to donate 10% of net sales from its “BP. Be Proud” collection to Trans Lifeline, directed toward its peer support and crisis hotline, and microgrants providing financial resources directly to transgender people across the U.S. and Canada. Nordstrom hopes to give $350,000 in support of the Transgender community. Nordstrom provides grants and funding to LGBTQIA+ organizations like the Hetrick-Martin Institute, Pride Foundation God’s Love We Deliver, Human Rights Campaign and more year-round.

Reebok

Reebok is celebrating ballroom culture with its newest Pride collection featuring unisex apparel and footwear that include rainbow designs and graphics as well as Progress Pride Flag product tags. The shoe styles getting a Pride makeover include the Classic Leather, Club-C, InstaPump Fury OG, Zig Kinetica II, Nano X1, and Floatride Energy 3.0.

How it supports the LGBTQ community: In addition to the collection, Reebok is donating $75,000 to the Sylvia Rivera Law Project, which is an organization that works to guarantee that all people are free to self-determine their gender identity and expression, regardless of income or race, and without facing harassment, discrimination, or violence.

Reef

For 2021, Reef is launching its third annual Pride collection with looks for both men and women. The brand’s Scout slides come with rainbow accents; they retail for $45 and will be available June 2 on Reef.com.

How it supports the LGBTQ community: For every pair purchased, the brand is pledging to donate 50% of the proceeds from Reef.com to PFLAG, the first and largest organization focused on the LGBTQ+ people, their families, and allies.

Target

The retailer’s range offers gender-inclusive styles including apparel, accessories, shoes and home decor. You’ll find a variety of socks to shop for, plus sneakers, sandals and T-shirts. The collection includes LGBTQ rainbow flag colors and items such as bandanas and socks that include the transgender, bisexual and pan pride flag hues on Target.com.

How it supports the LGBTQ community: Though not tied to the sales of the collection, Target announced a donation of $100,000 for the 10th year in a row to GLSEN, a leading education organization working to create safe and inclusive schools for LGBTQ youth with a mission to end discrimination, harassment and bullying based on sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as well as to prompt LGBT cultural inclusion and awareness in K-12 schools.

Toms

Toms’ Unity collection 2021 celebrates all forms of love with colorful upgrades to its best-selling silhouettes. They feature Pride-inspired details like rainbows and the words “Love Wins,” “Unity” and “Pride” with shoe styles retailing from $55 to $60 on Toms.com. The collection also includes sunglasses with gradient lenses and rainbow-colored frames, socks and face masks.

How it supports the LGBTQ community: Year-round, Toms supports the LGBTQ+ community providing everything from shoes and sight services to mental health support. The 2021 Unity collection supports grassroots organizations like Brave Trails, an LGBTQ youth summer camp with a leadership focus.
