Cloud data management company Rubrik has announced enhancements to help organisations recover from ransomware attacks.

"There has never been a greater need to protect and quickly recover from rising cyber threats like ransomware, which are devastating businesses on a daily basis," said Rubrik president Dan Rogers.

"Rubrik continues to lead the cloud data management industry and innovate to address new and evolving data risks, allowing for quick recovery from attacks and protection of precious IP, no matter where the data is stored."

New capabilities and features include a global view so IT teams can identify affected workloads and files, the automated mass recovery of applications, support for two-factor authentication, data risk management based on user behaviour analysis, and integration with automation frameworks such as Palo Alto Networks Cortex Xsoar and ServiceNow Incident Response for faster recovery.

Rubrik also announced AppFlows, the company's new disaster recovery solution that can take advantage of existing backup systems.

AppFlows includes application blueprints that capture the resource mapping and workload dependencies to enable reliable failover in the event of a data centre outage. VMware environments can failover to a secondary site or to VMware Cloud on AWS.

Rubrik has also added to its protection of cloud services and environments, including Microsoft 365 backup and recovery, automated discovery and backup of SAP HANA on-premises or in the public cloud, intelligent cloud archival to optimise costs of public cloud object-based storage, and backups for vSphere Metro Storage Cluster.

There's also support for cloud backup of NAS, backup from NetApp SnapMirror, protection of next-generation Kubernetes workloads, and consistent point-in-time backups for Nutanix Files and Live Mount for Nutanix AHV backups.

In addition, Rubrik allows users to offload backups to Oracle Data Guard standby databases with failover/switchover awareness, and to delivery policy-driven backups for Cassandra databases via Polaris.
