Osmania Hospital Security Guard detained for illegal sale

Hyderabad: In another fight against the black marketing of COVID-19 drugs, the commissioner’s task force arrested two people, including the security guard of the Osmania General Hospital, and seized the drugs.

The accused Kiran Kumar, a native of Bhongir, completes his B pharmacy and works in a medical shop. Based on his experience two months ago, he opened a medical agency in Medipally, Boduppal.

As a result of Covid-19 pandemic situation he observed the demand for Remdesivir (Covifor) injections used for antiviral drugs for Covid-19 patients.

As such, Kirankumar has devised a plan to acquire Remdesivir injections at low prices through known sources and sell them at black prices at a high price (Rs. 30,000 / – per injection) for illegal profit.

For that, he obtained Remdesivir injections from his well-known sources with a minimum price and informed one Mohd Khaled (security guard at Osmania General Hospital) about the availability of injections and asked for customers.

In this process, accused Kiran started delivering Remdesivir injections to accused Mohd Khaled, after which Khaled sold the same Remdesivir injections for Rs. 30,000 / – to needy customers and easily earn money.
