A lieutenant-colonel has accused his wife of assaulting him with a golf club and claimed it was because he refused to give her money to buy a luxury car. DCP (south-west district) Ingit Pratap said an FIR was lodged at Delhi Cantonment police station under IPC section 325 (voluntarily causing hurt) on May 6 based on a complaint by the Lt-Col.

According to the FIR, the alleged incident took place on February 12 at their home.

According to police, the complainant has claimed his wife then left home, while he went to hospital where doctors diagnosed that he had suffered a metacarpal fracture on his right hand. A medico-legal case was registered by the Army Base Hospital authorities, police said.
