Hyderabad: Rachakonda police on Tuesday launched ‘Swasthya Seva’, an initiative to provide food to orphanages, old age homes and drivers on highways with the help of non-governmental organizations. (NGOs).
Mahesh Bhagwat, Rachakonda Police Commissioner, launched the initiative at Abhi Sai Datta Child Home, Uppal.
The Swasthya Seva program aims to provide food to children, the elderly and the mentally handicapped in orphanages, old age homes and special homes. Food will also be provided to long-distance drivers of heavy vehicles.
On the occasion, Mahesh Bhagwat said that the Rachakonda police have adopted 18 orphanages and old age homes and will be handing out one meal to them for two months.

He said that these homes face many problems during the crisis, and such a program is aimed not only at looking after their physical health by providing good lunches, but also to visit philanthropists.
The CP further stated that during the first spate, the Rachakonda police also seized almost 77 houses of various kinds with almost 2876 prisoners served with food and dry ration during the lock-up period.

CP Rachakonda thanks Haryana Nagrik Sangh who along with Agarwal Samaj, HNS Chikitsalaya, the HNS Corona team came forward to work with the Rachakonda Police for this initiative.
Sri Mahesh Bhagwat served lunch with the guests to the nearly 30 children of the House and chatted with the children.
