One of my closest friends is 411 pounds
Dude just eats like sh*t and doesn't really do anything physical. His GF is also huge and it doesnt help
Anyway, what kind of diet should he go on? Also, some super lightweight cardio too. Maybe just some walking to start off?

Cut as much sugar and junk food as possible, also eliminate a fair amount of carbs
Eat mostly protein and vitamins. Meat, vegetables, etc. It's not necessary to eat a lot less, just change the food he eats. There is a lot of healthy food that tastes good
I guess for exercise something easy at first so he doesn't die. Any exercise that gets his heart rate up a bit will do. He should focus on gradually increasing the intensity until he's doing real workouts

lol this dude is 411lbs and has a gf whilst some kunce here cant even look in a girls direction.
Get him to cut his portions and eat better. No need to put him on some diet which isn't sustainable long term.
At the end of the day, you can lead a horse to water but can't tell it to drink. Sounds like he needs to make this decision for himself.

Honestly have him do simple things at first like cutting out any drinks w calories, candy, alcohol, and going on walks every day. He should lose weight just from that. After he gains some confidence maybe introduce the gym and some other simple diet changes

You know how hard it is to lose weight at that size?
He must eat 10 big macs a day. He can lose weight by eating like 8 big macs.
He doesnt need to eat chicken breast + brocolli and count decimal point calories.. The beginner gains would be immense and very motivational. Just saiyin. Tell him to cut just like 1 snack or meal in his day. Start small and get him addicted to beginner gains.

Great way to get this dude to fail and binge
He's 400lbs he could cut on 4000 calories.
Moderation, starting slow and maintaining are the key in this sort of case, big boy can have a candy bar or even two a day, he just need to make some small changes, have a couple of cans of diet soda a day instead of full sugar and cut out a couple of the snacks and get up and walk 15-20 minutes round the block.
