CNT and Movistar Ecuador ink roaming deal to boost 4G coverage

Ecuador's state-owned operator CNT said it has reached a nationwide roaming agreement with Movistar Ecuador (Telefonica) to improve 4G LTE coverage for their respective customers across 18 provinces. Under the deal, the operators will share 94 mobile base stations (59 from CNT and 35 from Movistar) with a view to boosting 4G penetration and future use of 5G.
