Due to an increase in covid cases in rural and peri-urban regions, states are being advised to hold a series of meetings/interactions to sensitise ASHAs, ANMs, panchayati raj Institutions, and Community health Officers. States have been urged to educate their citizens on how to recognise the early indicators of SARI/ILI and COVID symptoms.

State health secretaries have been instructed to convene daily routine review sessions with medical officers and block-level nodal officials beginning tomorrow, Monday. Surveillance, screening, isolation, and referral of cases from such locations; monitoring of home isolation cases and providing them with information booklets; and scaling up of facilities in all three COVID-19 Healthcare — Care levels.

Dedicated COVID health Centres (DHCs), and Dedicated COVID Hospitals (DCHs) — were all examined extensively. The conference is significant in light of the country's rural hinterland having a high number of cases with a growing death and positive rate, as well as low reported levels of testing.

States were urged to share their best practices and to make use of their current teleconsultation ability. The need of maintaining non-COVID vital healthcare delivery systems, as well as communications and behavioural change, as well as a renewed parallel focus on mental health assistance, were also emphasised. The states and UTs were advised of the modifications to the CoWIN platform. The importance of following the process for wearing and doffing PPE equipment was emphasised.
