GUWAHATI, May 17: Extending its full cooperation to Assam government for containment of the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic, Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) on Monday said it has taken up special measures for the containment of the pandemic in the state.

“We are going to come out with special Covid management cells in each district for the Covid-19 patients and also for the common people in the state. These cells will be monitored by our members. One can contact the dedicated phones provided and share their grievances or any other requirements,” AJP president Lurinjyoti Gogoi said addressing a press conference here on Monday.

The regional party has developed its Covid management cells in 15 to 20 districts of the state.

Gogoi also informed that AJP is on the verge of developing a plasma bank.

“Any willing people who recovered from Covid-19, he/she can donate plasma by registering themselves in https://plasmafinder.assamjatiyaparishad.com,” Gogoi said.

Gogoi also demanded the introduction of offline appointments for vaccination apart from online, as many people below the poverty line of the age group 45+ in the state are unable to get themselves vaccinated in the midst of state curfew from 12 noon.

“If necessary, a door-to-door vaccination drive must be introduced immediately,” he added.
