Chiefs' convincing win managed to even put a smile on the face of head coach Gavin Hunt, which local soccer fans will know is quite a rare sight.

A special mention also has to go to the Amakhosi supporters for their well-organised peaceful protest, which appears to have ignited their team's emphatic performance. It's another reminder that football remains nothing without fans.

Pitso takes home the bragging rights 

In a battle of the "master v student", Pitso Mosimane outwitted his former side as Al Ahly pulled off a convincing 2-0 win over Mamelodi Sundowns at the Al-Salam Stadium in Cairo on Saturday.

It was job done for the current CAF Champions League holders, who put in a professional display to clinch a win by a two-goal advantage while importantly denying Sundowns an away goal.

The three-headed technical team of Sundowns as the "students" failed to surpass the master-tactician in the first-leg of this CAF Champions League quarter-final clash.

Mosimane is now looking odds-on to clinch a semi-final berth in a week in the return leg in South Africa.

Rodgers shows SA coaches should follow his blueprint

Brendan Rodgers led his Leicester City side to their first-ever FA Cup title in a 1-0 win over Chelsea as Youri Tielemans proved the match-winner at Wembley on Saturday.

It's the first trophy for the Northern Irishman in England on the back of a successful spell at Celtic.

Rodgers has expertly laid down the blueprint as a trailblazing manager who has successfully transformed himself from a talented coach to an elite manager.

After Saturday's FA Cup triumph, Rodgers has cemented himself and navigated the challenging journey from assistant to one of the elite managers in world football after starting as a Jose Mourinho assistant.

An emotional Alisson later in his post-match interview dedicated his goal to his late father, who tragically died earlier this year.

"Football is my life. I played since I can remember as a human being with my father. I wish he was here to see it, but I'm sure that he saw it with God at his side and is celebrating."
