#Kolkata: The Trinamool Congress has written to the Kolkata police commissioner alleging illegal arrest of the party’s minister and MLA. Trinamool has filed a petition with the Kolkata police seeking action against the CBI for illegally arresting two party ministers and a MLA in the Narda case. The letter was written on behalf of the Trinamool Mahila Congress by its president and state minister Chandrima Bhattacharya. Chandrima also claimed in the letter that the Governor’s order to arrest the ministers and MLAs was illegal.
The CBI today arrested two ministers Firhad Hakim, Subrata Mukherjee, and MLA Madan Mitra and former MLA Shovan Chatterjee in connection with the Narda case. In the letter, Chandrima Bhattacharya directly alleged that the manner in which the CBI had arrested two state ministers and one MLA was completely illegal. In the letter, the state chief minister questioned why the CBI arrested Firhad Hakim, Subrata Mukherjee and Madan Mitra without arrest warrants. The letter also raised the question of what the arrest had to do with the submission of the chargesheet At the same time, the Trinamool has been vocal about why two important state ministers and people’s representatives were arrested in the Corona situation. Besides, the question has also been raised as to why he was arrested without the permission of the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly
Striking the Governor, Chandrima Bhattacharya said, “We have written in the letter that what the Governor has done is very illegal. He has done what the constitution does not allow him to do as the spokesperson of the BJP He has ordered the arrest without consulting the government or the principal He is walking on the finger of the Prime Minister and Home Minister He has lost his neutral character The CBI has also lost its neutrality As an impartial body, the CBI cannot follow such illegal directives of the Governor. Chandrima Bhattacharya further raised the question, why the governor did not order the arrest of Shuvendu Adhikari, Mukul Roy?
Chandrima Bhattacharya further said, ‘An election was held, the cabinet was formed a week ago And the governor has come down to the market on behalf of the Bharatiya Janata Party He has lost his freedom, his sense of humor. “
