Usha International's Siddharth Shriram Passes Away

He was the man behind the joint ventures with Honda Motor Company to manufacture small engines and automobiles and was the Chairman of Honda Siel Cars India till recently.

Siddharth Shriram, Co-Chairman, Usha International, one of India’s most respected industrialists and a person who encouraged and promoted the exciting new sport Ultimate Frisbee in India, died on Monday due to COVID-19 complications.

He was 76.

The industrialist was famous for his method of promoting the new games under the brand name of Usha International. With his promotional strategy, he built up companies including  DCM and Citibank.

He was the man behind the joint ventures with Honda Motor Company to manufacture small engines and automobiles and was the Chairman of Honda Siel Cars India till recently.

Shriram played Golf to a phony 9 (should be a 12) handicap and Bridge, and has held administrative positions in various sporting and industry associations. In 1994, at the founding of the Delhi Policy Group, he was the company's Managing Trustee.

The person known for his aggressive promoting professional management with a meticulous sense of detail was serving as Chairman of - Mawana Sugars, Honda Siel Power Products and Co-Chairman of Usha International.

He led Mawana and Usha to sponsor several sporting and healthful activities such as Golf/National Marathon/Frisbee.
