BAN vs SL: BCB sells TV rights to Ban Tech for nearly Rs 140 crore- Bangladesh Cricket Board has reportedly sold its 2021-23 TV rights to marketing agency Ban Tech for USD 19.07 million. The company won the bid set by the price of BDT 161.5 crore floor price set by the Cricket board. Sri Lanka tour of Bangladesh will be the first home series under this two-year deal (till October 2023).
The amount is slightly less than Gazi TV who were the previous broadcasters of BCB (USD 20.02 million for six years), which covered 80 international matches, including India, Australia and England tour of Bangladesh.
The new deal includes as many as 10 home series including tours of Australia and England in 2021 and India’s tour to Bangladesh next year. As per ICC’s FTP, Australia are supposed to play on T20Is while England will three each ODI and T20Is ahead of the T20 World Cup later this year.

Meanwhile, India will play a couple of Tests and three ODIs in November next year. Besides this, Sri Lanka (twice), New Zealand, Pakistan, Afghanistan and West Indies are likely to tour Bangladesh until January 2023.
In total, seven Tests along, 18 ODIs and 19 T20Is will be played under this deal.

The BCB is likely to make a formal announcement in the next 24 hours.
“We will disclose the deal after the board’s approval tomorrow. It is definitely a good thing, given the circumstances. They were the only bidders, and they met the floor price,” Jalal Yunus, BCB’s media committee chairman told ESPNCricinfo.
Ban Tech had earlier bid for Bangladesh vs West Indies series at home for reportedly USD 2.2 million.
T-Sports and Gazi TV, two big sports channels in Bangladesh, may buy rights from Ban Tech.
T-Sports had earlier broadcasted Bangladesh-West Indies and Bangabandhu T20 Cup.
