AHMEDABAD: The state health & family welfare department on Sunday announced that there would be no vaccination on Monday and Tuesday keeping in mind the potential impact of cyclone Tauktae. “The vaccination for 45-plus years category was halted for the past three days to upgrade the software. The new directive from the Centre has mandated gap of at least four months between two shots of Covishield. As 90% of the population is vaccinated with Covishield in Gujarat, it would have implications on the future vaccination drive,” said a senior health department official. The department officials said that the cyclone aftermath might need more hands at hospitals, and thus the vaccination would not be initiated.
