KCR recommends officials to build 48 oxygen generating plants in Govt. hospital

Hyderabad: Prime Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao instructed the officials of the Medical and Health Council to erect 48 oxygen generating plants in the government hospitals to produce 324 tons of oxygen needed for the Covid patients in the state and also to ensure that there will be no oxygen shortage in the future.

The CM also instructed the officials to set up an additional plant to produce 100 MT of liquid oxygen in Hyderabad. The CM has ordered that 6 units of 16 MT plants, 15 units of 8 MT plants, 27 units of 4 MT plants be established in hospitals in Hyderabad, Hyderabad, Areas.

The CM also asked the oxygen producers to hand over 11 tankers, each with a capacity of 20 tons within ten days. The CM said that in the coming days, the state of Telangana should not experience a situation where it is dependent on other states for the supply of oxygen.

On Monday, the CM held a high-level review meeting here in Pragathi Bhavan Covid.

The CM said since the state government provides free medical treatment, food, medicine and other facilities to the patients, people should be admitted to the state hospitals for the treatment. He said that on Monday there are 6926 beds in the state hospitals vacant, of which there are 2253 oxygen beds, ICU beds are 533, general beds 4140. The CM requested the people to take advantage of the treatment in the state hospitals. where there is oxygen, beds, medicine and other facilities available for free instead of going to the private hospitals to spend a lot of money. Since the treatment is one and the same in private and state hospitals, people should prefer the state hospitals, the CM said.

The CM instructed the officials concerned to arrange arrangements for the equipment and the necessary medicines at the ENT Hospital in Koti, Gandhi Hospital in Secunderabad, medical college hospitals in the districts to treat the Black Fungal disease that is spreading are for the Corona-treated patients. He also instructed officials to immediately invite global tenders for the supply of vaccines.

The CM also demanded that officials continuously contact the center about the vaccination quota and get the vaccines from the state. Officials told the CM that the state has so far received only 57, 30, 220 doses of vaccine and that to date there is a stock of 1,86,780 doses of Covaxin and Covishield vaccines in the state. Of these, 58230 are Covaxin and 1, 28, 550 are Covishield vaccines.

The CM has stated that the government is ready to spend any amount for the creation of medical and health infrastructure facilities. The CM said it was deciding to set up new medical colleges in Sangareddy, Jagtial, Kothagudem, Wanaparthy, Mancherial and Mahabubabad.

He also instructed that Colleges of Nursing should also be established with these medical colleges. The CM said in those medical colleges where there are no nursing colleges, they should be approved. He said the proposals already submitted for the sanction for nursing colleges should be examined immediately.

The CM said that to provide medical treatment facilities and medicine to the poor in the government hospitals should include 12 local centers in Siddipet, Wanaparthy, Mehboobabad, Kothagudem, Nagar Kurnool, Suryapet, Bhongir, Jagtial, Mancherial, Bhoopalpally, Vikarabad, and Gadikarwal. He said vehicles had to be arranged on their own land or on lease on a war basis at the various state hospitals of these centers. Similarly, in order to store the medicine, cold storage facilities must be set up at the sub-centers. Government hospitals should be given the highest priority when treating the poor for the supply of oxygen. The CM gave the officials clear instructions that there should not be a shortage of oxygen in the state hospitals.

He said that 11 months ago the government issued a directive GO 248 setting the tariff for hospital beds Covid patients in private hospitals. Officials said that in TN, Kerala, Maharashtra and UP and other countries follow the same guidelines. They said patients treated in private hospitals pay fees themselves.

The CM has instructed that the 200-bed hospitals in Anantagiri in Vikarabad, Singareni, RTC, CISF, railways, army and ESI hospitals for the Covid treatment.
