Internet Reacts to Video of Adam Sandler Playing Pickup Basketball in Pink Polo Shirt

In a viral tweet, sportswriter Anthony Puccio (@APOOCH) shared a video sent to him by a friend of Adam Sandler "hoopin' on Long Island." The video is a screen recording of Robert Whitehorn's Instagram stories.

The tweet has more than 10,000 likes and over 1,200 retweets.

On the court, Sandler sported a pink polo shirt, baggy shorts and chunky sneakers. The actor plays pickup games often, though the outfit certainly doesn't allude to that fact.

"Adam Sandler is never completely dressed for the activity he's doing," commented one Twitter user in a quote tweet.

The Internet loved the video and had reactions for everything, from the way Sandler was dressed to the game itself. Here's what some people had to say in response to Sandler's Sunday afternoon.

Former NBA player Baron Davis said: "Adam Sandler is a baller. You want to be on his team in pickup. He throws dimes!!!"

Though he throws a great pass, one teammate proceeds to catch the ball and then misses the shot. Twitter couldn't believe it.

"One chance to score off an Adam Sandler pass in your life and it hits nothing but backboard, devastating," tweeted PhillyVoice sports reporter Kyle Neubeck.

"You get one opportunity to catch a dime from Adam Sandler and THAT'S the shot u [sic] put up," commented one Twitter user obviously disappointed.

Said another: "I love the way his [Sandler's] shoulders drop after that dude clangs one off the backboard."

Apart from being impressed with his skills on the court, people couldn't get enough of Sandler's outfit of choice.

"Lmao the amount of fabric used on them [sic] shorts," tweeted Diante Lee. "This man is gonna be stuck between 98 and 06 for the rest of his life."

"He's versatile," said another. "Wanna hoop? Got some baggy gym shorts and sneakers. Need to meet the inlaws at Applebee's? Got my salmon polo on."

Writer and podcast host Bailey Carlin tweeted: "Adam Sandler looks like when you forgot your gym clothes in middle school but didn't want to miss out on basketball day."

As previously mentioned, this isn't the first time Sandler has joined a local pickup game. According to multiple reports, the "Uncut Gems" star loves basketball and often visits local courts to play with strangers in his community. In December 2019, another one of his pickup games went viral.

Many people online love that Sandler takes the time to play basketball with regular people.

"The guy is worth $400 million and out playing pickup games in the park," said Twitter user IndyNathan. "Gotta love Adam Sandler."

"Adam Sandler is a gem walking among us," said another.

In the greater Long Island area, one thing seems to be inevitable: all avid pickup basketball players will receive the opportunity to hoop with Adam Sandler.
