At 730, State records highest ever single day positive cases

The State has set a new grim record of highest ever single day positive cases with as many as 730 people tested positive for COVID-19 during the last 24 hours.
In the meantime, 10 more individuals fell victim to the deadly virus, informed a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang.
The victims were aged 67 (male, Kakching), 61 (male, Imphal West), 49 (male, Churachandpur), 61 (male, Imphal West), 81 (female, Imphal East), 80 (male, Imphal East), 75 (male, Imphal West), 52 (female, Imphal West), 75 (male, Imphal West) and 67 (male, Imphal West) expired at Shija Hospital, Churachandpur district hospital, JNIMS and RIMS.
Altogether 730 people were found infected by the virus at JNIMS, RIMS, Imphal East, Imphal West, Maipakpi Hospital, Mother's Care Hospital, CMC, Hillside Hospital, Swiss Clinic, Sielmat Hospital, Samaritan Hospital, Lamjingba Hospital, Little Clinic, Gilead Health Care Centre, Raj Medicity, Ema Hospital, Asian Hospital, Iboyaima Hospital, Jivan Hospital, Shija Hospital, Babina Diagnostics, Escent Diagnostics, Thoubal, Bishnupur, Kakching, Churachandpur, Senapati, Tamenglong, Kangpokpi, Jiribam and Ukhrul.
Imphal West (268) and Imphal East (208) accounted for the bulk of the positive cases.
The others are residents of Thoubal (53), Bishnupur (38), Kakching (58), Ukhrul (8), Churachandpur (28), Chandel (5), Senapati (2), Tamenglong (39), Kangpokpi (15) and Jiribam (8) .
Following recovery, 403 COVID-19 positive people have been discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (319), CAPF (4), RIMS (2), JNIMS (1), RD Wing (7), BB (18), NSU (12), Raj Medicity (10), Shija Hospital (11), Bishnupur (2), Kakching (6), Tamenglong (3) and Ukhrul (8) .
The cumulative number of positive cases is 39,052 (general population 35,362 and Central security personnel 3,690) .
It is inclusive of 6215 active cases (general population 6043 and Central security personnel 172) and 32,275 recovered cases.
