Circilla-based Govt teacher shows black fungus symptoms, moved to Hyderabad

Rajanna-Sircilla: A government teacher, suspected of suffering from symptoms of black fungus, was moved to Hyderabad by local medical authorities on Sunday for further medical examinations.

Allam Lingaiah (48), a native of Malyala in Chandurthi mandal, was infected by Covid-19 a month ago. He was discharged from hospital after being treated for 10 days in a private hospital in Karimnagar.

Although he recovered from Covid, he has been complaining for the past three days of headaches, sore throats, swelling of the face and neck. On Sunday, he visited the hospital again. After doing medical examinations, the hospital authorities moved him to Hyderabad as the symptoms were similar to black fungus.

After learning about his condition, dr. Suman Mohan Rao, District Physician and Health Officer, visited Lingaiah’s home and inquired about the symptoms. The DMHO said it has yet to be confirmed that the teacher is infected with black fungi, although he has symptoms.
