35 oxygen cylinders reach Imphal

Considering the increasing demand for medical oxygen, the State Government has brought in altogether 35 oxygen cylinders to the State, today.
According to a reliable source, vehicles carrying the oxygen cylinders reached Jiribam this evening and had headed for Imphal at around 3.50 pm.
The 35 cylinders include 30 D-Type (40 to 60 litres) and 5 B-Type Cylinders (10 litres).
On the other hand, the number of positive cases in Jiribam is also increasing rapidly.
At least 8 persons of one family from Uchathol tested positive today.
Speaking to The Sangai Express, one executive member of the All Tribal Jiribam United Clubs' Organisation (AJUCA) said that there is no shortage of medical oxygen at Jiribam as of now.
However, dearth of medical oxygen might hit the district anytime as Covid positive cases continue to rise, he said and appealed to Chief Minister N Biren to take up necessary measures in advance to avoid such a condition.
The AJUCA member further stated that certain items brought in from Silchar are being sold at exorbitant rates by some traders.
