Xiaomi may soon re-release Redmi Note 8 with upgraded specifications. The Redmi Note 8 had launched about two years ago. Leaks suggest the new model will offer a new processor, among other upgrades.
According to leakster Kacper Skrzypek, the Redmi Note 8 2021 model will come with MediaTek Helio G85 processor. It will have a 4,000mAh battery. The handset will run on MIUI 12.5 out-of-the-box.
A GSMArena report points out that a Redmi handset with model number M1908C3JGG has also been spotted on the FCC website. Additionally, Xiaomiui revealed the upcoming phone would come with 22.5W fast charging support and a quad-camera setup with a 48-megapixel primary sensor. The Redmi Note 8 2021 will offer storage up to 128GB.

The report further says that the phone will be initially available in select markets, such as the EU and Russia.
Currently, Xiaomi is offering the Note 10-series. It comprises Note 10, Note 10 Pro, Note 10 Pro Max, and Note 10S. Prices for the series start at ₹12,499.
In case you don’t remember, Redmi Note 8 was one of the best selling phones for Xiaomi. According to a May 2020 report, Xiaomi reported selling 30 million units of its Note 8 lineup. Its variants, Redmi Note 8T and Redmi Note 8 Pro, had also made it to the top 10 selling phones in the fourth quarter of 2019.
That said, Xiaomi has not officially confirmed the launch of a 2021 Redmi Note 8. It may even launch the phone with a different moniker. If rumours are true, you can expect the design to be similar to the original version but with major upgrades under the hood.
