You will not find anyone decent unless you give them 80-90%. Your idea isnt really worth anything, the work they put in is all the value.
You need to pay for it to get done.
You might be able to find someone super junior to do it for % but they'll probably do a poor job.
Depending on the complexity of the app expect to pay 5-10k+ if you find a resource in India to do it. Expect to pay closer to 100k locally.
Probably cheaper to just get someone on payroll locally and have them build it in a month and then get rid of them after a couple more months and all the bugs have been worked out (maybe not the most ethical)

that's the problem. no one wants to invest tons of time doing all the heavy lifting, hoping that the project succeeds. it's one thing if you're turning your idea into reality, but it's different if you're finding someone off the street to do it for you, while not paying them anything.

I am Jack's complete lack of surprise.

The first business partner I had was one of my father's best friends, they have known each other for over 30 years and we got along just fine. The second business partner I have known since I was in university.
There needs to be a lot of trust between business partners, otherwise everything is destined to fall apart. You could instead, look into an investor that might be interested in what you have to offer and then start hiring people with contracts and well defined roles.

Yeah i was planning on spending around 7k which I'm fine doing. I can do the ui design but I'd need someone to make it functional and it is quite complex, it's essentially a social media application it has a USP). I think you're right, maybe just hire someone to do it and then let them go and carry it on myself
