GURUGRAM: A 20-year-old woman was allegedly abducted and raped by three youths in Manesar on Friday. Police have identified the accused men and are conducting raids to nab them. According to police, the woman, who is originally from UP, has been staying with her sister in the city for the last four months. On Friday evening, she left home to buy mutton with two of her male friends. Due to the lockdown, they didn’t find any mutton shop open. After searching for a few hours, they came to know that mutton was available in Pataudi and headed there. The two-wheeler they were travelling on was intercepted by three youths in a Mahindra Scorpio near Jatoli village around 10.30pm. “The men dragged the trio inside the SUV, snatched their mobile phones and took them to a nearby field. Her two friends were held hostage while the men took turns to rape her,” said inspector Poonam Hooda, SHO of Women’s police station, Manesar. The survivor and her friends were then dumped near a road around 2am, after which the men fled. She managed to call police and a police team soon rushed to the spot. On the basis of her complaint, a case was registered at the women’s police station of Manesar against the three men under sections 341 (wrongful constraint), 342 (wrongful confinement), 376D (gangrape), 365 (kidnapping), 379B (snatching with force) and 34 (common intention) of the IPC. “We have identified the accused men. All three are from Jatoli village and one of them is a dhaba owner,” said SHO Hooda, adding that they are on the run. Police teams are conducting raids to nab them, Hooda said. Police said the accused men had borrowed the SUV from one of their friends to attend a wedding. They were on the way to the wedding when they spotted the complainant and intercepted her. Three days ago, a case was registered in Palwal after a 22-year-old woman from Delhi was lured into a forested area by a man who had promised to introduce her to his parents and allegedly raped by 25 of his friends.
