PS urges PM to increase oxygen, Remdesivir supply and vaccine doses to TN

Chennai, May 15 (UNI) AIADMK Co-Coordinator and Leader
of the Opposition in the Tamil Nadu Assembly Edappadi
K Palaniswami on Saturday urged Prime Minister Narendra
Modi to increase oxygen, Remdesivir supply and vaccine
doses to the State in view of the increasing COVID cases.
In a letter to Mr Modi, copies of which were released to the
media here, he said the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic
has affected a large number of people all over Tamil Nadu.
The official report indicates that 32,000 people are infected
daily in the State, showing an increasing trend day by day.
''Though the state government has implemented several
restrictions for the movement of people, including the
lockdown, due to increase in the number of cases, there
is a huge demand of beds, oxygen supported beds and
ICU beds in both the government and private hospitals",
he said.
Pointing out that there was also a long queue of patients
waiting for admission in hospitals all over Tamil Nadu,
Mr Palaniswami urged Mr Modi to increase the supply of
oxygen, Remdesivir injections and allotment of vaccination
doses to the State.
