After teasing fans all week by hinting at an upcoming new release, Nicki Minaj has revealed that her 2009 Beam Me Up Scotty mixtape will finally be available on all music streaming platforms.

The rapper also announced a new track alongside Drake and Lil Wayne called Seeing Green.

In an Instagram Live video, Nicki spoke about her mixtape, adding that she released new music with it because she knew fans would be upset if she did not. She did, however, also mention that she is working on a new album as well as a documentary.

"The album is coming soon. The documentary is as well. I'm really excited for you guys to see the documentary, I know you're going to love it," she teased.

Nicki, who welcomed her first child in September 2020, had taken a short break from the industry. Addressing the reasons behind it, the star explained: "This little hiatus was really fun because I was in mommy mode. But also, I went through like this crazy little writer's block for a second."

She went on to speak about how Drake had helped her to overcome her writer's block when he had sent her Seeing Green.

After getting Drake to join the Instagram Live session, Nicki confessed: "He single-handedly got me out of my writer's block, and I'm never going to forget it."

"He sent me something, and it made me feel so competitive again," she added.
