Hisar: Meet held to support rape accused

A meeting was held in Chanot village of Hisar distirct on Friday under the chairmanship of Tekram Duhan to lend support to resident Anoop Chanat, who is accused of sexually exploiting a West Bengal woman at farm protest site who later died of Covid-19. Sumer Singh, president of Roghi Khap, was also present in the meeting. Sumer said information was obtained from Chanot residents and family members about Anoop and he was being falsely implicated in the case. It was decided that a joint panchayat will be held after contacting khaps of all co-accused, except main accused Anil Malik, in the case and they would later meet the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha leaders.
