In a series of tweets, a renowned Xiaomi tipster claims that the company is looking to re-release its 2-year-old Redmi Note 8 phone for select markets. An FCC listing is in line with his claims certifying a smartphone with model number M1908C3JGG.

The handset is confirmed to run on the MediaTek G85 platform along with a 4,000 mAh battery and will ship with MIUI 12.5 out of the box. The 2019 Redmi Note 8 launched with Snapdragon 665 and with the same 4,000 mAh battery.

Additionally, a series of @Xiaomiui tweets back up the theory and contribute with a bit more details such as 22.5W fast charging (an upgrade over the 18W on the current Note 8) and a quad-camera setup with 48MP main shooter is expected. Storage will go up to 128GB.

So far, rumors suggest that the handset will be available in select markets, EU and Russian included. And perhaps, the rest of the specs won't deviate too much from the original Redmi Note 8.
