TN Guv sanctions Rs 1 cr from discretionary fund & one month salary for COVID relief

Chennai, May 15 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit today
donated Rs one crore from his discretionary grant and his one month
emoluments towards COVID relief.
A Raj Bhavan communique said the Governor handed over the contribution
to Chief Minister M K Stalin to assist the State Government in its preventive
and control measures against the COVID’19 pandemic.
Mr Purohit said the State Government is taking lot of preventive measures
and making elaborate arrangements to overcome the prevailing critical
situation of the second wave of COVID’19 pandemic and to safeguard the
human lives as a whole.
''As part of shouldering the responsibility of the Government of Tamil Nadu
at this critical situation, the Governor has donated Rs one crore from his
discretionary grant, besides his own contribution of one month emoluments
to the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund for the control measures of
COVID’19 and to provide relief to the affected people''.
Mr Purohit also appealed to the people to contribute generously to the
‘Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund’ to help the needy and also to follow
Corona Appropriate Behaviour.
Responding to the Governor's gesture granting Rs one crore from the
discretionary fund, Mr Stalin tweeted ''let the contributions of each and
every one help in winning this battle against this pandemic disaster.''
