Like the virus changes its mutants, so does the confusion over its characteristics and its treatment. Every day a new nomenclature pops up from the community of medical science.
Every alternative day a new name of a medicine is heard. So does the name of a new vaccine. Then the comments of some health experts on the good or bad about the use of the above two. As if they are in the know of all about it!
And the following trouble was over the shortage of oxygen that almost paralyzed the nerves of the nation and at the ones at the Centre and killed hundreds of innocent patients.
Now the nation has a tryst with the shortage of vaccines and the efficacy of the vaccines.
Every expert has his own way of interpretation except on two basics, i.e wearing a mask and physical distance.
The list of strains gets longer each day. Right from the UK to Telengana via South Africa and Brazil, each strain is portrayed by experts in their own ways. From being virulent to very virulent in its fatality, the mutation capacity, and so on and on.
Right from Coronavirus to B 1 617 or Mucormucosis, each day a new name is abandoned as a thrill or thunder that drives many of us to look in askance. What next, nobody knows!
After the fracas over the oxygen syndrome, now it is back to the vaccine, and their applicability/ efficacy as regards age groups.
One More Vaccine
First, the second vaccine was prescribed after a gap of four weeks and now it is said, that good if you keep a bigger gap and so it has been 42 days. Was it for lack of vaccines or create room for younger age groups or, a medical compulsion as some doctors now plead that, bigger the gap in between the first and the second dose, is more effective clinically?
Confusion Confounded!
And now according to the latest advisory the gap between 1st and the second dose of vaccine required to be 12 to 18 weeks!
Now the new vaccine Sputnik has made its way into India and it is too undergo debates over its efficacy and all that further confounding the confusion.
Confusion makes all of us travel miles through the gullies of ignorance that is what we all are wadding through for over one year.
Not a single expert knows about the enormity of the further escalation of the situation nor much more about the virus that is still invisible.
Good that from now they talk of the third wave, which can be equally dangerous, while some say, if the second one is handled rightly, the third can be less malignant.
Thank God there are no elections in the very near future. Else there would have been the need for some more worry.
Challenge For Children Innoculation
More worrisome is now the inoculation of children starting from the age group of two years onwards. Although the clinical trials are going on abroad, here also one can hear the doctors giving tips as well.
There has to be a difference, perhaps, between the earlier viruses and Corona and the way it is looked at medically. Drawing parallel between inoculation against polio or other viruses in the past is too early a statement.
Serum Chief Left For London!
And now the biggest puzzle is the disappearance of Mr Poonawala, the CEO of Serum Institute who reportedly left India along with his family for the UK for, it was said, better. That he felt unsafe here in the present circumstances! Or is there any other reason behind his exit?
