Amid a surge in the coronavirus cases, nine mini-Covid care centres have been made operational in different parts of the city for treating Covid patients.
An order issued by UT Adviser Manoj Parida states that since beds in the government hospitals at Sector 16 and 32 are almost full, new patients coming for medication and requiring indoor treatment may be sent to these mini-Covid care centres for medication and admission, if need be.
Doctors from the attached hospitals will also make periodic inspections of the Covid care centres. The patient will make his/her own arrangement to travel to the centre and will get necessary discharge certificate after cure from the doctor concerned of the centre. Patients can also directly approach the mini-Covid care centres.
“More than 100 beds with doctors, nurses and medicines and oxygen facility are available in various mini-Covid care centres set up in city. Any resident can directly approach the centre for diagnosis, medication or admission,” said Parida. All these Covid care centres have professional doctors and nurses available to attend to the patients.
They are also providing free food, medicines and necessary care. Many of these centres have arranged for providing oxygen to the patients through cylinders or concentrators.
Keeping in view the increasing number of Covid cases, the UT Administration has given a call for setting up mini-Covid care centres voluntarily by any individual, association, voluntary organisation, NGO, religious organisation, corporate, firm or trust for asymptomatic Covid positive patients. Stay, food, medicines and every other facility at the centre will be provided free of cost.
