Twelve dead in Afghanistan Mosque blast

Kabul, May 14 (UNI) At least 12 people were killed and 15 wounded in an explosion that rocked a mosque in Afghanistan’s Kabul province during a Friday prayer.
The blast occurred at Haji Bakhshi Mosque in Qala-e-Murad Bek area in Shakardara district of Kabul on the second day of the three-day Eid ceasefire between the Taliban movement and the Afghan government.
The wounded were shifted to a nearby hospital by police and volunteers from local residents, a police official quoted by local media, said.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
This is the second such incident in the past 6 days. On May 8, at least 70 people were killed and 150 injured after three consecutive explosions happened close to the Sayeed-ul-Shuhada School in the Dasht-e-Barchi area of Kabul.
Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani described the bombing attack on a girls’ school as an act of terrorism and a crime against humanity. The President blamed the blasts on the Taliban, but a Militant spokesperson denied there involvement and accused the ISIS terror group of attacking the school.
