May 14—David J. Rossi

TREMONT — A Donaldson man charged with trying to disarm a state police trooper on Jan. 3 in Frailey Township had charges against him held for court during a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge David J. Rossi.

Mark A. Ginter, 54, of 25 E. Centre St., was arrested by Trooper Matthew Hoke of the Schuylkill Haven station and charged with disarming a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest and harassment.

Rossi determined the commonwealth presented enough evidence to substantiate the charges and ordered all three offenses held for Schuylkill County Court, where Ginter can plead guilty or enter a not guilty plea and request a trial.

Hoke said he was sent to the Ginter home for an active domestic dispute and learned from the man's girlfriend that he struck her several times, grabbed a rifle and went to the second floor of the home.

Hoke said that Ginter ignored commands to come to the front door to resolve the situation and said he was not going back to jail.

While being taken into custody a short time later, Hoke said, Ginter grabbed his Taser weapon and asked what it was. The man also resisted being placed in handcuffs but was eventually taken into custody without further incident, Hoke said.
