The ACMS is the Australian Computer Museum Society and it is having a ticketed event for the public this weekend, to officially open the National Computer Heritage Centre.

The ACMS is the Australian Computer Museum Society and it is offering the public the chance to come in and see a range of Australian Micro computers and software behind glass to see and have an open discussion.

For interaction, the ACMS has 10 computers (Amiga, Apple, Wombat, IBM, Vectrex, BBC, Amstrad TRS-80, Commodore, BBC and Microbee), where the public will be able to sit and play some classic games, including classic Australian titles like Warlords by SSG.

The weekend tickets are $25 for adults, $12.50 for children. Free for current paid members.

The ACMS is accepting the NSW Dine and Discover $25 vouchers for payment.

The $25 fee buys you your joining fee and an included 90 day membership, and there will be more member benefits to come.

The video for the event is embedded below:

The public Ticket booking link is here, as is the location of the event,

Donations in the name of recently departed and gone too soon ACMS founder Graeme Philipson to support the ACMS can be made here

The event also commemorates not only the passing of Graeme Philipson, but also the untimely passing of former ACMS president John Deane on the 14th of May 2020. He is also famously known for being a co-inventor of WiFi at the CSIRO.

A John Deane award has been established for those collecting and preserving vintage technology - John's passion.

A Graeme Philipson award will be announced around the preservation and documentation of the History of (Australian) IT.

All money raised at these events by donation is going to support the charity to run free or subsidised education events in the near future and support the ACMS awards to give back to the community.

This event is off the back of the recent ACMS pop-up event in Portland, (Country NSW) which was a massive success with over 500 people coming to see and discuss vintage computing.
