Lakhimpur Kheri/ Etawah, May 14 (UNI) At least eight people were killed in two separate road accidents in Uttar Pradesh on Friday.
Five people drowned when their car fell into the Sharda canal under Phulbehar area of Lakhimpur Kheri district.
Superintendent of Police (SP ) Vijay Dhul here said the car, carrying seven persons hit railing of a bridge and fell into the Sharda canal.
Four bodies have been recovered, two people rescues while search is on for one missing.
The people travelling in the car were returning from a pre-marriage function.
The deceased were identified as Ajay Kumar, Lalit Kumar , Sumit and Ajay's five year old son.
Tarun Gupta and Sangam Gupta were rescued.
In another accident, three people were killed and couple of other, including the groom, were injured when an SUV carrying a marriage party overturned in the Sirsagan area.
Police said that accident occurred near Kutfauri police chowki. The marriage party was going to Etah from Jaswantnagar.
The groom Saurabh and two others were critically injured.
The deceased were identified as Yogendra(26) and Yogesh (22). One was yet to be identified.
