Madhya Pradesh woman killed over bride of 4 girls

Shivpuri: A 28-year-old woman was allegedly killed by her husband and in-laws because she gave birth to four girls, the last of whom was born just three months ago, and also because of dowry in the Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh, police said on Friday. .

Savitri Baghel was allegedly strangled to death by her husband Ratan Singh, his father Kilold Singh and mother Benoo Bai at their home in the town of Dindoli, about 80km from the district headquarters, police inspector Ramraja Tiwari said.

According to him, according to the brother of the deceased Krishna Baghel, Ratan Singh and his parents harassed his sister because she gave birth to four daughters and did not have a male child.

Krishna Baghel told police his sister gave birth to the fourth daughter just three months ago, he added.

The family would also harass the woman due to dowry, Tiwari said.

The accused have been discussed under IPC Articles 302 (murder) and 304B (dowry), but so far no arrest has been made, police said.
