Aurangabad, May 14 (UNI) Fear of coronavirus, mixed with lockdown imposed to stem the spread of the contagion lessened fervour of Eid-ul-Fitr which was celebrated in a simple manner in the Marathwada region on Friday.
Leaders of different political parties and elected representatives greeted the Muslim community on the occasion through social media.
According to government guidelines, the festival was celebrated in a simple manner without crowding public places.
Following social distancing, prayers were offered at home for the good health of every citizen of the country.
Reports from rural parts in district including at Pulambri, Sillod, Vaijapur, Kannada, Paithan, Kannada, Khultabad, Gangapur talukas said the festival was celebrated a peaceful manner.
A heavy police contingent was deployed to check any violation of covid-appropriate behaviour.
