Dear Reader,
Salman Khan film releases are mostly an occasion for his fans. There's the added joy of Eid too. And keeping true to The Salman Khan image, Salman Khan has gifted Salman Khan fans yet another Salman Khan blockbuster this Eid. Radhe, Your Most Wanted Bhai arrived on Zee5 yesterday and resulted in their servers crashing. The platform sorted out issues quickly but last we checked, non-Salman fans who happened to watch Radhe were still reeling from its after-effects. You can read our review of Radhe here.
Now, to Eid. The festival calls for lots of sweets and we have a recipe of Sheer Khurma for you to try. You can skip the calorie count for today. Follow Malaika Arora for yoga asanas tomorrow on. From the bookshelf, our pick is The Archer by Paulo Coelho, a break from all the morbid news that have flooded our social media channels for a month now.
Among the releases on OTT this week apart from Radhe, TVF Aspirants and Wonder Woman 1984 (on OTT on May 15) are the most-talked-about ones. You can find out more about them in our OTT section.
That's all from us this Friday. Eid Mubarak. Celebrate it but stay safe. Get the jab when your turn arrives. Don't follow Biden and drop the mask yet. We're not yet where the US is.
See you next week.
Here's Your Weekend Planner.

Eid Mubarak, dear readers. Today, on the occasion of Eid, amid the Covid-19 crisis, celebrations are going to be different as we will only be able to connect via social media. But we can always rejoice and keep those sad feelings at bay, only for a while, by cooking up a delicious recipe in our kitchen. Today, we have Sheer Khurma.
HOW TO MAKE SHEER KHURMA?

Start by roasting the vermicelli in ghee until it turns golden and set aside. In the same pan, heat ghee and add chopped dry fruits and nuts like chopped dates, raisins, cashews, almonds, chironji seeds and roast for 3 to 4 minutes on a low heat. Now, heat milk in a saucepan. Let the milk come to boil, then lower the flame and simmer for 8 to 10 minutes until the milk slightly thickens. Keep on stirring the milk at intervals.
Add the roasted vermicelli and sugar to the milk and simmer for 8-10 minutes until the vermicelli is cooked. Add the dry fruits, nuts and ghee from the pan and mix. Then, turn off the heat and add cardamom powder and rose water. Mix everything and serve.
FROM THE BOOKSHELF
The Archer by Paulo Coelho

Amidst these bleak times when India is battling the Covid-19 crisis, we are all looking for hope in places that we can’t reach out to - friends we can’t meet, family members who live in far off places and colleagues who are back in their hometowns. In such times, books can bring us a certain joy and help us stay positive in these challenging times. The alchemist Paulo Coelho, who has inspired millions with his books taking us through journeys within ourselves, came out with The Archer recently. Translated by Margaret Jull Costa with illustrations by Christoph Niemann, the book is a quick read giving us meaningful life lessons.
In the book, we meet Tetsuya, a man once famous for his prodigious gift with bow and arrow who has since retired from public life. When a boy comes searching for him to learn archery, Tetsuya illustrates the ingredients for a meaningful life through the way of the bow and arrow. In each lesson, there are nuggets of wisdom about hard work, passion, purpose, willingness to fail and the urge to make difference for a rewarding life. If you have been feeling lost, hopeless and helpless lately, this book is a must read for you.
