Dr Reddy gives first dose of Sputnik V vaccine in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Dr Reddy’s Laboratories announced on Friday that the first consignment of imported doses of the Sputnik V vaccine, which landed in India on May 1, received regulatory approval from the Central Drugs Laboratory, Kasauli, on May 13.

As part of a limited launch, the gentle launch of the vaccine began and the first dose of the vaccine was administered on Friday in Hyderabad.

Further consignments of imported doses are expected in the coming months. Subsequently, the administration of the Sputnik V vaccine from Indian manufacturing partners will begin.

The imported doses of the vaccine are currently priced at an MRP of Rs 948 + 5% VAT per dose, with the possibility of a lower price point when the local offer starts.

The company works closely with its six manufacturing partners in India to meet the regulatory requirements to ensure a smooth and timely supply.

Dr Reddy will work closely with government and private sector stakeholders in India to ensure the widest possible reach of the Sputnik V vaccine as part of the national vaccination effort. It is a confirmation of the company’s commitment to explore every path in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic in India.
