The current situation in India is far from okay. The second wave of COVID-19 has turned out to be far more catastrophic than the first wave, with the health infrastructure in the country almost crumbling as hospitals in Delhi and many other cities run out of beds, medicines and injections. Even those fortunate enough to get ICU beds in hospitals are struggling let alone the ones who are getting home treatment. People are reportedly taking their last breaths at the gates and doorsteps of hospitals, there's chaos and pain almost everywhere you look. The silver lining, however, is that many people from all walks of lives are coming together to aid those in need through financial help and other ways. A slight decline in positivity rate has also been recorded in the country over the past few days. Celebrities have been partnering with their fans and followers to either donate or amplify the voices of those seriously in need of medical and financial help by posting their requirements on social media. Now, actress Rakul Preet Singh has also joined her other colleagues to raise COVID-19 relief funds. The actress, involved with cinema in multiple languages including Hindi and Telugu, has announced a fundraiser along with a crowdfunding platform, wherein she is now urging people to contribute towards oxygen cylinders, concentrators and refilling them. She has also requested help for procuring life-saving equipment amid the current crisis. Last year, during the lockdown, Rakul and her family extended their help to a slum near her Gurgaon home in Delhi. She facilitated two meals a day to almost 600 families. The food was cooked in her society which was supervised by her father personally and delivered daily for over five months to those badly hit by the pandemic. She had also participated in a blood donation campaign and encouraged her fans to follow suit by posting about it on her social media timeline.
