The Ellen DeGeneres Show, which debuted in 2003, has won more than 60 Emmy awards. However, the show will now be ending after a successful run of 19 long years. Last year, three top producers exited the show and Ellen DeGeneres had apologised, after there were reports of a toxic work environment. Ellen had promised a new chapter but on Wednesday, during a media interaction, she said, “It’s time.”

Ellen said, “When you’re a creative person, you constantly need to be challenged and as great as this show is, and as fun as it is, it’s just not a challenge anymore.” She insisted her decision to bring the curtain down on her show had nothing to do with allegations in the past year of a workplace environment rife with bullying, racial discrimination and harassment. Ellen had Oprah Winfrey as a guest on her show on Thursday to talk about ending the programme. The final episode of the show is reportedly scheduled for the spring of 2022.
