Total 13 samples were sent to Bareilly`s Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) from Jaipur`s Nahargarh Biological Park, one report has been found positive. Apart from lion Tripur, a sample of another lion and a white tiger was found suspicious, both of them show symptoms but the sample doesn`t confirm it, hence there samples have been taken again.
After Hyderabad and Uttar Pradesh, now the shocking news of Asiatic lions turning Covid-19 positive has come to light from Jaipur. Tripur, an Asiatic lion at Jaipur Zoo has tested positive for Covid-19, apart from him, a white tiger and another lion in the same zoo are also suspected to be infected from Covid-19; however, their Covid-19 report doesn`t confirm the same. These three lions have been living in Lion Safari located in Nahargarh Biological Park on Jaipur-Delhi Highway for a long time.
Rajasthan`s first Lion Safari was started in 2018 at Nahargarh Biological Park, Jaipur. On the Jaipur-Delhi Highway, a biological park spread over 720 hectares has a lion safari on 36 hectares. The Lion Safari first had 4 lions, out of which Kailash and Tejas have died. And now Lion Safari has Lion Tara and Tripur. Of these, the Tripura Corona has now been found infected.
This has been confirmed in a sample sent to Bareilly`s Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI). The investigation report has been confirmed by Dr. KP Singh, Joint Director of the institute.
