A 65-year-old man was in surgery at a Houston hospital Thursday afternoon after he was shot several times early in the morning.

Oscar LeBlanc was found by Orange police officers just before 1:15 a.m. Thursday in the backyard of his home in the 1800 block of Lincoln Drive in Orange, according to a news release from the Orange Police Department.

He was “conscious and alert” and taken to a Beaumont hospital before being transferred to a Houston hospital, the release said.

The department is asking for residents’ help finding more information on the shooting.

“Orange PD is asking anyone that lives or has a business around Lincoln Dr. to check their security cameras for anything suspicious between 12:00 (midnight) and 1:30 am on May 13, 2021,” the release said.
