Delhi airport T2 to be shut from May 17 midnight

New Delhi: The second wave of Covid-19 has taken a huge toll on the domestic aviation sector as the operator of the IGI Airport here DIAL has informed that it has decided to shut flight operations from Terminal-2 (T2) from intervening night of May 17-18 with significant reduction in the passenger traffic. Officials in the DIAL said from May 17 midnight all flights would be handled at the T3 terminal only, which used to be operated from T2. Currently, the Delhi airport was handling around 325 flights per day, they said, while adding that before the pandemic, it used to handle around 1,500 flights daily. tns

US Customs imposes ban on cow dung cakes

New Delhi: The US Customs made an announcement for Indian passengers barring the transportation of cow dung in any shape or form. The announcement was made after the leftover baggage of an Indian passenger was found to be containing cow dung cakes which were then destroyed by the US Customs. US agents found two cow dung patties in a suitcase left behind after an Air India flight in April. TNS

ASI sites, museums to remain closed till May 31

Kolkata: The Archeological Survey of India (ASI) on Wednesday said all Centrally protected monuments, sites and museums under ASI shall continue to remain closed till May 31 or until further orders. This has been decided in view of the Covid-19 pandemic, ASI said in an order on Wednesday. TNS
