Kia Seltos is one of the best selling mid-size SUVs in the Indian market. It does come with traction and drive modes but that does not mean it can go off-roading. It is a front-wheel-drive urban SUV that competes against Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kushaq, Tata Harrier, Renault Duster, Nissan Kicks, Maruti Suzuki S-Cross, Mahindra Scorpio, upcoming Volkswagen Taigun and the upcoming Mahindra S301. Well, here we have a rendering of Seltos by zephyr_designz. The artist has imagined the Seltos as a proper off-roading vehicle.

The artist has retained the basic design language of the Seltos but has added a lot of functional equipment that are required for off-roading. The SUV here is finished in Black which gives it a very stealthy look. The artist is using a lift kit for this Seltos as we can see it is quite high from the ground. There are special off-roading tyres that are also wider than stock. While the rims are not visible, such wide tyres mean that it is running on different wider rims which must be steelies because they are considered to be better than alloys for off-roading.
Then we come to the front of the SUV. We can see the stock LED headlamps with LED Daytime Running Lamps and LED turn indicators. There is a roof-mounted light bar to lighten up the road ahead. There is also a pair of aux fog lights mounted in the bumper. The bumper itself is a steel one that we usually see on Thars. The benefit of a steel bumper is that it does not get damaged or let the vehicle take damage when a tree or something hits. There are also two tow hooks mounted on the bumpers that are finished in bright red.
There are two massive fog lamps mounted in front of the grille on the bumper. The fog lamps have been sourced from Hella which is a well-known manufacturer. Onto the right side fender, there is a snorkel placed. A snorkel is considered an important add on if you are into serious off-roading. It helps in preventing dust and water to enter the engine. Because it is installed at a roof height it draws in colder and cleaner air. It also helps in keeping the air filter of the vehicle clean. There is also a winch kit mounted on the front bumper which can be useful in getting out if the vehicle gets stuck.
Kia launched the updated Seltos recently. The Seltos starts at Rs. 9.95 lakhs ex-showroom and goes all the way up to Rs. 17.65 lakhs ex-showroom. It is offered in three engine options.
