GUWAHATI, May 13: Assam government has decided to prepone the summer vacation for the schools to minimise the load on the academic calendar of the season.

In a notification issued by principal secretary of education department B Kalyan Chakravarthy on Thursday stated that considering the fact that in view of the Covid-19 situation in the state, it was decided that the summer vacation in schools will start from May 15.

“Considering the fact that in view of the Covid-19 situation in the state, and educational institutions being closed as on date and with the objective of ensuring that the students of elementary, secondary and senior secondary schools (Class 1 to 12) do not suffer from any academic loss and therefore, it is decided that the summer vacation in schools scheduled from 1 to 3, July 2021 as per academic calendar, is hereby rescheduled from May 15, 2021 to June 14, 2021,” it added.
