BHUBANESWAR: A 98-year-old woman with co-morbidities has defeated the Covid-19 bringing hope to the people fighting the deadly virus. She was undergoing treatment at the SUM Covid hospital here. The woman, Annapurna Biswal of the Chandrashekharpur locality in the city, was tested positive for Covid-19 on May 5. She was rushed to the SUM Covid Hospital for treatment. Biswal was suffering from filaria, hypertension and diabetes before the virus attacked her. But she responded to the medication and turned around within a week's time. “The dedicated care extended to my mother has helped her recover,” said Kulamani Biswal, son of the woman. Annapurna’s granddaughter-in-law Rajashree Biswal expressed her happiness for the recovery. “We never thought she would recover after she was infected by Covid-19. The help desk set up in the hospital has extended great support to our family,” she added.
