Chhattisgarh reports fifteen cases of black fungus infection

Fifteen patients suffering from black fungus are being treated at All India Institute of Medical Sciences-AIIMS Raipur.

In Chhattisgarh, amid the second wave of Coronavirus infection, there have also been some cases of black fungus infection.

Fifteen patients suffering from black fungus are being treated at All India Institute of Medical Sciences-AIIMS Raipur.

Taking stock of these cases, the State Government has started efforts to control this disease.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has directed the Health Department to ensure availability of medicines needed for the treatment of Black Fungus infection in various districts after some cases of this disease came to the fore.

It has been observed that some people with diabetic problems have suffered from the Black Fungus infection after the treatment of COVID-19.

Apart from the eyes, this infection has also been found in some other parts of the body. If it is not controlled in time, it can prove fatal.

The situation of Corona infection in Chhattisgarh is improving steadily. The positivity rate in the state has now come down to around 14 per cent.

The number of newly infected patients found every day in the state has also come down to around 10 thousand.

Meanwhile, the first death from black fungus infection has been reported today from the steel city of Bhilai in Chhattisgarh. A person undergoing treatment for Black Fungus in Sector- 9 hospital of Bhilai died today.

The person had recovered from COVID-19 recently. After that he was suffering from Black Fungus infection.
