Dog Takes Cat to Join Family Photo in Adorable Video Shared on Social Media

An adorable video posted on social media shows the moment a dog grabs a cat to join a "family photo."

In the clip, three golden retrievers can be seen relaxing on a staircase, with a cat named Xiaobao at the top of the stairs.

As their owner is ready to take a photo of the animals, one of the dogs grabs the cat and brings it next to the other two golden retrievers. The owner then tells the dog: "Put it down."

The three dogs, with their tongues out, seem to pose for the picture, and the cat, which is in front of them, does not look directly at the camera.

Before taking the photo, the person filming the clip says: "Xiaobao, look at the camera."

The dog in the middle then puts its paw on the cat as if it was a proper family portrait, with the animals looking at their owner for the snap.

TikTok user dannerchen01 shared the clip yesterday, with the caption: "When you have a very smart golden retriever."

The video went viral, with more than one million people watching it on TikTok.

It also received more than 12,000 comments on the social media app.

One person wrote: "The cat really said: 'I DID NOT!!! sign up for this'."

Another user added: "That one sibling that hates family photos."

One more commented: "My mom dragging me outta my room to take a family photo."

Some people, however, expressed their concern because of the way the dog drags the cat down the stairs.

A TikTok user said: "That's awful. The dog has the cat by the throat. Not cute or funny."

Another added: "Poor cat they're too controlling."

In a similar video posted on TikTok by dannerchen01, the cat voluntarily goes down the stairs to join the three dogs for a photo.

When the owner tells the feline to "seat neatly," the cat does so and the four animals look at the camera at the same time.

The social media user wrote in the caption: "A group of cats and dogs that can understand their master."

In other cute animal news, an elephant was filmed playing cricket with a group of men in an Indian village. A clip of a cat massaging a sheep went viral on Facebook this week. And one more hilarious video posted on Twitter shows a meerkat riding a tortoise.

Some pet owners decide to challenge the old saying "fighting like cats and dogs" by homing the two species together.

Although their relationship can be rocky at times, many people manage to raise the animals without problems.

According to Dog's Health, one of the easiest ways to make sure cats and dogs get along is to adopt them when they are both young.

The website also states that the animals need their own space "to feel comfortable and safe," as well as their own food, making sure they do not steal each other's lunch or dinner.

It adds that adopting a new pet when there is already a cat or dog in the house, which is used to having its own space, could be more difficult and could potentially lead to fights because the existing animal will see the house as its own "domain."

In this case, Dog's Health suggests introducing the new pet gradually to avoid any inconvenience and to make sure the two animals can adapt to each other.
