Idk about the GOAT, but he's definitely up there. His longevity is unmatched (except for Kanye perhaps like you mentioned) and he puts out hit after hit. Srsly, every few months I'll hear a popping song, and lo and behold it's Drake at it again. Reps op people gotta stop tryna bring down the guys achievements.

How many of those songs are actual "hits" without his name being attached to it? Not many, IMO. That's the weird thing about rap. Its the P Diddy thing all over again. Some of the songs are MEH, but putting his name on it suddenly gets crazy radio play and people get into it just because of his name. If it were a lesser known artist with the exact same song, they wouldn't care for it.
A similar thing is going on right now with Megan the Stallion. She's decent, but her chit is a bit redundant when you hear enough of it.ALL I ASK IS ALL YOU GOT FOR AS LONG AS IT TAKES

Eminem has the advantage of being around in the 90s and early 2000s, so of course his sales will look good. And he was the 1st mainstream big white rapper etc which white people gravitated towards. If Drake was around at the same time, Drake would have washed Eminem lmao.
Drake has more number 1s and will eventually pass Eminem in sales (if we count streams). Drakes single gods plan went diamond, that album had so many hits its unreal.
Drake has features with all the respected artists, Wayne, Jay z, Cole, kendrick, Eminem etc btw. He can hold his own if he wants
Not even just talking sales, I'm talking the quality of hits they put out too. That's where Drake stands out, there's a reason he's the most played artist on Spotify dawg and will continue to be in future

If you're talking about the quality of what's put out, how can drake touch outkast? You're honestly clueless. In fact, the quality of his chit is fairly average, constantly, just a catchy beat with him mumbling over the top. No chit he gets mainstream success, because most people like to listen to brainless music and tap their feet. So again, if you're using this as your argument, then the beatles are the GOAT lol.
And again, you're using mainstream appeal as a bar for being the 'GOAT', and we're gonna have to disagree that this is a good metric to judge the GOAT on. I mean gangnam style was a huge mainstream song, which highlights why this isn't the best metric lol..
And if we're going on actual ability to spit, how can you compare the chit you posted to verses like this:

Drake hasn't dropped a verse even close to this in his life.
As mainstream music goes, drakes music is good. But to call his music things like a 'masterpiece'... in my opinion is a joke, and a very very low bar for a 'masterpiece'Last edited by TappingTheZen; Today at 05:03 AM.

Not true.. For example, take his song with summer walker girls need love, his verse is needed on that song imo. There's an individual version which is still fire, but Drake always dominates a feature when he comes through and gives it the spark it needs
And he has a ton of individual hits, they are not just features

Beatles are chit lmao. Outkast are good but even some of their chit sounds very dated to me now,. Not standing the test if time
Then you got GOATs like Marvin gaye, that man is an alien, everything he put out was fire and his chit sounds timeless. Theres levels to this chit and Drake is in a league with the big boys that most other artists just aren't in
I'll listen to that verse now

We're gonna have to disagree strongly on outkast. Andre was 20 years ahead of his time, how can you listen to chit like ATLiens and Aquemini and have that opinion? Sure their stuff has to be a little dated, they wrote these albums 25 years ago... you don't think any of drakes music will sound a little dated when it's 25+ years old? Please...
In terms of flow, technical ability, rhyme schemes etc he cannot touch them. In terms of quality he can't touch them either.. sure he's probably sold more records overall because he's put out 50x more music, but if you adjust for the amount of music actually put out? Well, as previously mentioned Drake doesn't have a diamond album so....and if you think drake gets even close to the respect of his peers that andre3000 gets, then fukkin LOL at you.
We still havn't established what metrics you're using to judge the GOAT, so we're just going to continue to disagree until such a time you've made this clear. In terms of mainstream appeal for an extended period of time, sure i can agree drake belongs up there.. but i still disagree that this is a good metric to base someone as GOAT on. I mean gangnam style has more views than any drake song lol..
And whether you think The Beatles are good or not, under what seems to be your criteria of GOAT thus far, they are the GOAT's objectively. More people have listened to their music, for a prolonged period of time than any other artist in existence... so mainstream appeal isn't a good metric now it doesn't suit you, but when it comes to Drake it is? :S I think your bias is clouding your judgement somewhat, and you're too caught up in whats hot right at this moment to see the bigger picture.Last edited by TappingTheZen; Today at 05:17 AM.

Commercial success and being pumped by the people who run the music industry doesn’t mean you’re the best.
Rihanna is the 6th best selling artist of all time. Is she a top 6 artist ever? Fukk no.
He’s had commercial success. But people into hip hop don’t view him in that light. He wouldn’t make any of his peers top 10 lists. He’s not even a top 25 rapper ever imo. Very one dimensional.
