Former Haryana Chief Secy Vishnu Bhagwan passes away

Chandigarh, May 13 (UNI) Former Haryana Chief Secretary Vishnu Bhagwan, who was suffering from Corona for the past few days, breathed his last at Max Hospital in Gurugram on Thursday.
He was around 80 years old. He is survived by wife Asha Mishra and son Aalind Jindal.
Vishnu Bhagwan was born on December 7, 1940 and was a 1965 batch IAS officer. He took charge on July 5, 1965 and retired from the post of Haryana Chief Secretary on December 31, 2000.
In addition to the post of Chief Secretary, Vishnu Bhagwan held important positions in Excise and Taxation, Irrigation, Human Resource Development, Public Relations, Social Justice and Empowerment, Electricity, Labour and Employment, Education Department and Animal Husbandry Departments.

He also served as Managing Director of Haryana State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Limited, Deputy Commissioner of Sonepat District, Chairman of Haryana Public Enterprises Bureau and the Vice Chancellor of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar.
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar along with many senior officers, including Chief Secretary Vijai Vardhan, Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, D S Dhesi, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, V Umashankar, Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister and Dr Amit Agrawal, expressed their heartfelt condolences.

Over 15 pc of total tests conducted by SHMS found COVID positive

Srinagar, May 13 (UNI) Over 15 per cent of total tests conducted by SMHS hospital in Srinagar were coronavirus positive while the hospital administration has upgraded oxygen supply to 3600 Litres Per Minute(LPM) of which 3000 LPM are supplied by 3 Oxygen plants, each with 1000 capacity supplemented by 1800 bulk O2 Cylinders.
